Welcome to MedellinMedellin welcomes you to the Flowers Festival 2024, a festival where locals invite all their visitors to celebrate Paisa's values and culture with them, decorating their streets with flowers and sharing cultural events and musicals throughout the city. This day come and join this celebration.

In the morning, we will pick you up at the hotel to begin the City tour. During our tour, we will visit the main sites of tourist interest in Medellin.

Medellin is a city with great cultural activity during the day and at night. It has 22 museums, more than 25 shopping centers, and specialized medical centers that make it ideal for health tourism.

The city draws attention to the development of works that make it inclusive. The Metro, the Metro Cables, the Metroplus, the Tram, the cycle routes, the escalators, and the cultural centers also welcome travelers arriving in the city.

On our tour we will visit places such as Cerro Nutibara (Pueblito Paisa, a replica of a traditional town in Antioquia), Parque de los Pies Descalzos, Parque de El Poblado, Parque de las Esculturas, Parque de los Deseos, we will take a tour by METRO AND METRO CABLE.

Additionally, we will do the graffiti tour in Comuna 13, learning about these cultural expressions and their transformation process in the area.

In the afternoon, we will visit the Botanical Garden with its exhibition of Orchids, Flowers, and Crafts. At the end of the afternoon, transfer to the Novotel Medellin Hotel and rest.

We leave in the morning towards Guatape, famous for the beautiful reservoir, which it shares with the town of El Peñol, for the fabulous giant rock, and for the colorful baseboards on the facades of its houses. This town, with a big tourist vocation, is the scene of many recreational activities thanks to the reservoir, at whose feet it sits.

On this tour, we will visit the replica of Old Peñol, a place that evokes El Peñol before the construction of the reservoir, and from there, we will take a boat tour touring the reservoir with beautiful natural landscapes.

Later, we will visit the Peñon de Guatape or Piedra de El Peñol (Entry ticket for ascent NOT included, paid at the destination), a large rock that is part of the Colombia massif, for those who dare to climb its more than 700 steps You can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the reservoir.

When the afternoon arrives, you can enjoy a delicious lunch (NOT Included) and then take a tour through the streets of Guatape, observing the baseboards on the facades of the buildings and visiting the local artisan shops.

At the end of the afternoon, return to Medellin and transfer to the Novotel Medellin Hotel or similar.

Years before the Guatape and El Peñol reservoir was built, the priest Jose Dolores Giraldo, parish priest of the municipality of El Peñol at that time, dreamed of a great dragon that would swallow the entire town, years later after the flood and disappearance of all the original urban center of El Peñol, said reservoir took the shape of a dragon, fulfilling the prophecy of the parish priest Jose Dolores.

We invite you to dress as an Antioqueño and enjoy half a day alongside the silleteros, enjoy the countryside with a spectacular view and a wide variety of cultivated flowers and vegetables, taste their typical drink and be part of the silleteros for a day, learn about their activities everyday life and learning about the process of making a silleta. We leave for Santa Elena, birthplace of the Silleteros, where you will enjoy a day of Silletero culture.

We will make our stop at Arvi Park, a natural reserve where we will also find a peasant market bazaar, where you can buy local products.

Later, we will go to the silletera farm 'El Pensamiento': The farmers will open the doors of their house to us with a warm welcome, accompanied by a rich and delicious Canelazo (typical drink) and they will invite us to tour their orchards and flower crops; We will have a silletera talk and they will teach the art of assembling a traditional silleta.

Take your time to enjoy the beautiful landscape adorned with a carpet of flowers, take out your camera and upload your best photos with the #TourdelasFlores and posting to @caminoscolombia on Instagram, parading with your Silleta, they will be unforgettable moments.

In the afternoon, we will have our Troubadour Show, which will make us dance and sing to the sound of the Trova, and later the farmers will invite us to enjoy a delicious lunch.

Once the activity is over, we will go to the Central Park of Santa Elena where you can take a photo with the Silletero Monument and then return to Medellin.

In the evening, closing dinner of the event at Andrés Carne de Res.

Did you know?

Does the silleta owe its name to its shape and the use it was given years ago? This was used as a means of transportation by the silleteros to go down from the mountains to Medellin, carrying their flowers and people.

At about 9 AM, we will pick you up at the hotel to leave for the Silleteros Parade. We will give you a Poncho and a Typical Hat souvenir, and we will provide hydration and a brunch-style lunch so you can comfortably enjoy the Silleteros Parade.

At the end of the parade, transfer to the Novotel Medellin Hotel and transfer to the airport.
